New Food Services in Gannon
It is our pleasure to announce that in the Fall of 2014 students, staff and visitors will be able to enjoy a new cafeteria in the Gannon Building where hot breakfast, lunch and dinner options will be available from the following nationally branded vendors: Einstein Bros. Bagels, Pizza Hut and Subway.
In addition, several new dining concepts will be offered including the availability of hot foods such as hand-crafted Angus burgers, hand-cut French Fries and other specialty grilled items such as breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches. A Wild Greens station will allow customers to choose fresh ingredients and customize their own salad. A Retail Market Outtakes station will feature the trendiest grab & go offerings such as Wicked Spoon Frozen Yogurt, fresh popcorn, pretzels and cherry & cola-flavored ICEE machines. Finally, a new global cuisine area will feature an EVO circular grill where you can experience flavors from around the world.
In the meantime, snack and beverage vending machines are located throughout the main campus. Additionally, vending machines containing microwavable food items are located in the following areas: HHS Garden level, TLC first floor, and Gannon third floor. These locations also have vending machines that offer fresh coffee, and microwaves to heat or re-heat food.
The new dining area will be quite spectacular. Make plans to visit this fall!

A major transformation is in the works for Lansing Community College’s Gannon Building in 2014.Through interactive displays and modern technology, what is now a work-zone will soon become a welcoming and inspiring space for students.
“This project will fundamentally change the student experience by creating a dynamic learning and support environment,” said Dean of Student Services, Evan Montague Ph.D. “It’s really all about the students—the students will own the space, and we will get to use it.”
Improvements include the construction of a faceted glass wall that will run along the building’s eastern face, design of a student commons area, and a brand-new food court that will feature four food vendors and a coffee shop. In addition, the building will house an easily accessible, one-stop student services center for admissions, enrollment, registration, academic advising, and counseling.
“When you think about the way that the Student Services Department is currently configured, the entire service model will be flipped,” Montague said. “The renovated space will be more about the students, building student connections, and giving them an area that they are comfortable hanging-out in.”
The redesign and modernization of the Gannon Building will exhibit uniqueness—setting LCC apart from its collegiate counterparts. Upon completion, it will not only serve as an attractive and comfortable space for students, but as a landmark for Michigan’s Capital city.
