The Arts and Sciences Division Office just received word that, in preparation for demolition work on the second, third and fourth floors, water will be shut off in the Arts and Sciences Building beginning Friday, May 17 at 8:00 a.m.  Bathrooms and water fountains will remain open and operative on the lower level (basement) only.  Please note that bathrooms and water fountains on all other floors will be closed and unavailable.  The lower level may be reached by stairwell and by the north elevator located in the center of the building.  We know this presents an inconvenience for faculty and staff engaged in packing and moving; however, the timing of the shut off is crucial to move forwards with demolition that has been postponed during finals week and professional activities events.

For your own safety and security please know that LCC has not yet received authorization from the Fire Marshall to occupy the south sides of the first and second floors.  No tours may be arranged at this time; no entry is permitted by any faculty, staff or students.  All construction zones still require hardhats and safety glasses.  Faculty and staff will be notified as soon as the Arts and Sciences Division Office may safely schedule orientations to the new spaces.  Access will then be permissible only as related to scheduled orientation sessions.  Thanks for your cooperation.

For non-emergencysituations,employees and students should report the problem to the Arts & Sciences Division telephone HOTLINE: (517) 483-1015.

Furniture installation has commenced on the south end of the first floor.  This new space will be the designated ‘Learning Commons’ where students can obtain tutoring assistance.
